| "A word to
the wise: DO NOT BEGIN THIS BOOK ON A NIGHT WHEN
YOU MUST WAKE EARLY. I, quite literally, could not put it
down. Indeed, I became
so absorbed that I hardly noticed the passage of time or the
movements of those around me. The plotline is unique and
compelling, the characters
well-developed, each with their own personality quirks.
Frannie, the main character, is easy to relate to, even
for one who has never lost a
parent. The illustrations which accompany the text add
another dimension entirely. I HIGHLY recommend this book
to anyone." - Kylie (Superior, CO) This exciting and enthralling journey will keep you in stitches, on the edge of your seat, and in suspense from page one through three hundred, seventy-two. A must read! - Josh (Indianapolis, IN)"I loved the freedom of spirit in all
of the characters that made them so ideally interesting
to a reader. I loved the introduction, conclusion
and everything in between. I loved Frannie's sense of self
and her opinions. I loved the irony of Jenna
falling in love with a guy they previously
had made fun of. I liked the children and the innocence
and comical sense they brought to the novel. I
hated the stereo typicalness and
one dimensionalism of Mel and loved that it was pushed away from
the mother in the end. This is a great book that I
couldn't put down." |
"From the
moment I read the first sentence of this book,
"Do you know what it says on a tube of
Colgate toothpaste?" I knew I was in for
a wild ride. The main character, Frannie, has got such a fun, perspective
narration, that makes the interesting plot of this book
even more hilarious. The mystery and real-life
situations in this book are great.
I love this book, and everything about it. It is so "PUZZLING",
funny, exciting, and just flat-out heartwarming!"
- CHARLOTTE (HOOVER, AL)
"Frannie finds danger in everyday items and actions after her dad dies- life can never be safe or the same again. I found this very touching and very real. And not just any life, but life from the point of view of an artist, where life is inseparable from art, and there is beauty and color in everything as long as you have eyes to see it. Fortunately, Frannie has the eyes, and ultimately realizes that life goes on." - Kelley (Easton, CT)
